In fact My Secret SEO Recipe is still a great 10 step guide that will help you build an online authority site that will rank you on Google.
My SEO Recipe Secret 10 Step Plan
Step 1: Install SEO Research Plugin
This is the only outdated part of this WSO. Joe has you download the SEO Book Firefox plugin that allows you to look up the statistics of your competitors. Problem is that since Yahoo Site Explorer, the most commonly used site to count backlink shut down, the plugin became useless in that aspect.
That is why I recommend you to get a free trial copy of Market Samurai. It has replaced the YSE module with Majestic SEO. The metrics are a bit different, but you’ll still get the same information.
Step 2 – 4: Create your site
On step 2, you will be stuck on the step that stops most people from ever making a site. Keyword research. Most people don’t know what to build a site on. And unfortunately, My SEO Secret Recipe assumes that you have an idea of what to build your site on.
However, if you are really, really stuck, I recommend you to go visit online stores like Amazon.com or Ebay.com and go browse through their categories.
